The first thing to say is that we are about relationships. We share beliefs, values, lifestyle, purpose and this all centres on being a Christian - a disciple of Christ. The bible is our resource for knowing about Him.
The church is an organic entity, the “body” of believers, so what is written here is not intended to pin us down, apply labels or package us neatly but to give you a flavour of who we are and how we operate.
Roots - A small group came together in 1980, meeting in homes and developing a vision for relating as family in presenting God’s values in the community, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Since then numbers have grown, new churches have been planted and Rydon School hall has become our “home”.
Sunday Morning - is the opportunity for us all to get together and celebrate our relationship with God and each other. It features
Small Groups - Sharing the journey. To enable everyone to experience close support and encouragement mid-week groups of about a dozen people meet in homes. This is where theory becomes practice as we are “there for one another”.
Structure? We are not formally linked to a denomination or hierarchy but are not insular, having relationships with a variety of other churches, especially those local to us. The church is served by a Leadership Team including Elders and associate leaders. As a registered charity we also have trustees overseeing our financial and legal obligations. Talking of finances, all our activities and our donations to causes elsewhere are funded by the committed giving of those who belong here.
